Black Hat On Page SEO Will Get You Banned From Google
On-Page Black Hat Techniques Who wants to be barred from Google? No one in the right mind would especially considering that Google is the world's most popular search engine and is considered the gold standard of all the search engines. In fact, some would even consider Google to be the Mother of all the search engine since Google commands nearly 40 of all European search queries. Yet, people use black hat techniques to get their websites listed with good search position in Google every day. These people fail to realize the fundamental truth about gaining good search results in Google. It takes time. There is no substitute for doing things the right way and reaping honest web business results. Some people would use these black hat techniques and honestly have no idea that they are sabotaging their own result. They may get away with it for some time but they will get caught eventually and will get Google Slapped, or gray barred (banned). So, I have decided to write this article so that you will know what NOT to do to get your self banned accidentally from Google. What Gets You Banned From Google? Basically, these are four different attempts at reaching high keyword density through keyword spamming. Instead of relying on creative writing and some tricks of the trade to properly introduce keywords in the web page while still maintaining fluency, these people are using suspect techniques to knowingly or unknowingly jeapardizing their standing with Google in order to achieve high keyword density. So let's take a look at how these black hat on-page SEO techniques are being used so that we can learn to avoid doing these things. No 1: Hidden Text Keyword Spamming Do you remember years ago when would open a web page where the keywords were written all over the page? Yes, those were the day when people used to keyword spam all over the page to get good search engine ranking. Hidden text works the same way. Let's say for example that I am working with a website that has black fonts and white background and I am looking to optimize the keyword "website promotion". I can use a white font to write "website promotion" all over the web page to blend in invisibly with white background. This would create a web page that still looks presentable to human eyes but search engines spiders can still read the cloaked text. This is how hidden text works. Hidden Text is where webmasters keyword spam in the background with the same font color so that the words are invisible to human eyes while the search engine bots can read the text. People are using this technique daily and are showing their ignorance of search engine technology. Yes, the search engines can see hidden text regardless of the legibility and yes, search engine bots know a keyword spamming when it sees one. You will get barred. People would most often use hidden text at the very top left corner of the website since Google bots read the text from left to right, top to bottom. This cloaked keywords would overinflate the keyword density. This site would rank number one but for the wrong reason. If Google discovers this, this site would be banned.
No 2: Alt image tag spamming Well, some people will also use alt tags to keyword spam. But do you know what alt image tag is? Have you ever placed a cursor over an image and saw a little writing pop up over the image? The purpose of an alt image tag is when a user visits your website and the graphics will not load, or is disabled by their web browser, text will appear instead of the graphic. Some people would use Alt image to spam the keywords just like how people can spam with hidden text. This is something that may help inflate the keyword density artificially but will get you barred once when discovered by Google.
No 3: Meta Tag Stuffing Now, we are encouraged to put our keywords into our meta tags and this is a good on-page SEO practice. However, repeating the same keyword in the meta tag is what we call keyword meta tag spamming and this is yet another attempt to artificially inflate keyword density in the web page. For example, the following website is trying to rank well for "tents". "" This is obviously ridiculous. Google doesn't use Meta Tags when ranking websites. Google WILL penalize it, but it WILL NOT help you... so, why would anyone do something like this? Stay away from it.
No 4: Title Tag Stuffing The title is what appears in the top left hand corner of your webpage. Below is an example of Title Tag Stuffing "Website|Website|Website|Website|Website|Website|Website" Don't do it... You only need to include your keyword(s) one time in your title tag. Anymore than 1 time will only dilute the effect, and if you overdo it as shown above, you may get banned. Those are just a few of the things that people are continuing to do online. Just remember not to use any of these techniques so that you will not get banned by Google, especially knowing that Google and other major search engines Will find out sooner or later and the penalty will undo all of your hard work in the end, ok?
